Carob Tree Ceratonia Siliqua

Tiny red flowers are displayed in clusters along the branches in spring. Seed pods formed form the pollinated flowers may be ground into flour, which is often used as a cocoa substitute because it has a somewhat similar taste to chocolate and one-third the calories.
